Mountain View Vineyard, Winery, Brewery & Distillery has quite a lengthy name but that’s because they have so much to offer. First, there’s the awe-inspiring views of the Pocono Mountains and vineyards. Second, Mountain View features more than just wine – beer, spirits, adult slushys and even hard cider can all be sampled and purchased here. Third, they have plenty of food, glorious food! Mountain View’s own bistro serves up sandwiches, salads, charcuterie boards, and amazing flatbreads (love the balsamic brie and fig) Live music, special events, and food trucks just add to the fun and best of all, you get to choose how you wish to soak it all in. While reservations are required to sit inside the tasting room/bistro or on the covered outdoor patio, there’s also an uncovered patio area with couches and fire tables as well as outdoor tent seating for walk-ins. And yes, dogs are welcome in the outside areas.
Since it was quite hot on the day we visited, we chose to sit inside the lovely, fully air-conditioned bistro to do our tastings. We started with Mountain View’s lone hard cider – Circuit Cider, a semi-dry that begins with notes of citrus and finishes with a flourish of maple. Odd but enjoyable. Now on to the wines! My semi-sweet palate relished the Aurora which was reminiscent of a Traminette, the grapefruit notes of the Mountain Goat White and First Blush’s hint of raspberry. There are few wineries that check all the boxes – great atmosphere, service, food, wine - and I am thrilled to say that Mountain View is one of them. I will be back!
