Pennings Farm Cidery has a lot more to offer than just fantastic hard cider. Here you can enjoy goat yoga, listen to live music, play Corn Hole or simply kick back in one of their Adirondack chairs and take in the picturesque views of the orchards. The red barn-like tasting room features 12 constantly rotating taps and some of the best brick oven pizza I’ve ever tasted – the apple gouda was indescribably delicious.
Ah, but what about the cider? I’m pleased to say that this was one of those rare tastings where I enjoyed everything I sampled. I’m no fan of dry ciders but the fruit forward Citra won me over. The Honey Hopped had a bright, carbonated feel while the crispness of the Johnny’s Gold Standard made it the perfect summer cider. While the honey-noted Cyber was the sweetest of all that I'd tasted, it was the Peach Fuzz that won my heart - it was like biting into a ripe, juicy peach.
In addition to hard cider, Pennings Farm Cidery also makes their own vodka out of the apples grown from their orchard. They also offer New York beer and wine, cider sangria and signature cocktails - there’s definitely something for everyone at Pennings! Best of all, you can load up on fresh vegetables at the farmer’s market located just down the hill from the cidery. There, you can also enjoy burgers and sandwiches at the farm to table style café. There’s also a beer garden, ice cream stand and a garden center – talk about one stop shopping!
